TextIT is a unique service where the user can get an optional text read directly on their computer by using synthetic speech.
It replaces several products as opposed to locally installing software.
The service is accessible from any Internet-connected computers. TextIT can be used regardless in where you are, at home, school or library. Why be limited by the fact that we are forced to choose which computer to use?
The text can be what you choose, written or pasted in TextIT. You can also listen to text from Internet sites.
With TextIT you also have access to Swedish and English spell check, glossary and advanced spelling help with search on the Internet.

How does it work?
|
|
TextIT is an Internet-based service you have subscribed to and accessed via a website where each user enters his or her unique user name and his password. After this you can copy-paste or type in a text and have it read to them.
You can also open a separate browser in TextIT where you can get text from basically any website read out during provided that web pages are properly encoded.
It is also possible to control the number of different ways and you can save the spoken speech as an audio file locally on the computer use. You can also get approximately 70 000 Swedish words explained.
Our cooperation with Oribi AB also means that you have access to Swedish and English spell checkers, Swedish / English and English / Swedish dictionary and advanced spelling help when searching on the Internet. With search feature available in TextIT you can find what you want without always having to spell quite right.

What voices and languages are included?
|
For Swedish sites TextIT uses the voice Elin and the English voice Lucy.
Apart from these languages TextIT has speech in Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, German, French, Spanish and U.S. English.

Why should we use TextIT?
|
No local installation is required, but the whole service is centralized and always accessible via the Internet. This means reduced costs for IT management; no updates on your computer and no missing software.
Moreover, it means a much greater freedom for the individual user because the service can be used from any computer any time.
