SpeakIT PLUS is a listening service that allows municipalities, government agencies, organizations and businesses who have websites that higher availibility to their information. With the SpeakIT PLUS on your website, all visitors have the text read by synthesized speech.

Why should we use SpeakIT PLUS?
|

Today, approximately 25% of the Swedish population has difficultity to assimilate the information posted on the web. This may be due to dyslexia, poor vision or perhaps a motor disability. Studies have also shown that many immigrants find it easier to understand speech than text.
Thanks to SpeakIT PLUS accessing information will be made easier and the selection of an entire text is no longer necessary.

SpeakIT PLUS is a very simple and inexpensive alternative in increasing the availability of the major groups in society who currently find it difficult to absorb information.

How does it work?
|
|
In the simplest possible way for those who have or administering a web site! The service is completely Internet based and requires absolutely no local installations. You get a URL address sent from Insipio which you then place on your home page, that's all! When this is done, your website will be connected to SpeakIT PLUS servers. After a visitor starts the SpeakIT service, the user will then be able to hear the text shown on the screen. An instrument panel and a popup menu is visible on the visitor's screen and there are several ways for the visitor to control what is heard. As a site owner or administrator you also have great opportunities to choose which layout service should have and adapt it to the site's graphic identity.

What voices are included?
|
|
For the Swedish sites SpeakIT PLUS uses the voice Elin from Acapela. By default, even English, Danish and Norwegian speech. SpeakIT is the latest and best available on the market. The English voice is called Lucy, the Danish is called Mette and the Norwegian units Olav. For customers who need other languages, we currently offer TTS also in Finnish, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese and U.S. English.

What are the features?
|
|
The user can, inter alia, elect to have all the text and self selected text read. The links read out either by pressing the a button in the tool panel or by stepping forward with the TAB key. In SpeakIT PLUS is our unique feature where the user can have an arbitrarily selected text read without having to select it. In SpeakIT PLUS also includes RSG (RApIDS peech G enerator), the world's probably fastest generator of synthetic speech.

What's more?

In SpeakIT PLUS also includes glossary by default. The dictionary includes 70,000 words of explanation. This unique service has been greatly appreciated by our customers, as people with dyslexia often have a limited vocabulary as a result of their disability. You can also free supplement dictionary of words and terms that are specific to your site.

What options are there?
|
If you want to make your website even more accessible we can also offer your visitors the options screen magnification, reading ruler, and a screen contrast applications. These options can also be used in other Windows applications such as MS Office.
Screen Magnifier program - Lightning Magnifier magnifies the screen up to 32 times with independent adjustment in height and width.
The reading ruler - ScreenRuler is a simple reading ruler that makes it easier to follow the lines of computer screen.
Screen Contrast program - ClaroView is a smart and very user-friendly program that provides a color-coated to make it easier to see on the computer screen, which facilitates reading.
